The first half of Lucifer’s fifth season is now on Netflix, and I’d like to explain why the show is so awesome.

As a quick backstory, I was never interested in watching a show about the Devil. It kept popping up on my Netflix homepage as a show I’d enjoy, but it seemed too dark for my taste. I normally prefer light comedies, and I could tell Lucifer was not light or a comedy.

Then the pandemic started a few months ago, and I had lots of free time on my hands. I decided to give Lucifer a try. If I hated it, I would just turn it off.

To my surprise, I was completely hooked within minutes of turning it on. I binge-watched the first four seasons in a week, and I was desperate for more. I read that the new season was on its way, and I couldn’t wait for it to appear on Netflix. The release date was pushed back due to the pandemic, but the first part of season five was finally released this past weekend.

Lucifer is so popular that it broke the record of having the biggest opening weekend for a TV series on Netflix.

Without giving any plot points away, I’ll share some great aspects of the show.

Why Lucifer is Awesome:

1. The entire cast has sex appeal.

Everyone on the show is sexy as Hell (pun intended). With the diverse characters and personalities, you’re bound to be attracted to at least one of them.

2. The writing is superb.

The premise of the Devil wandering the streets of Los Angeles combined with the intricate details of each episode creates an entertaining and suspenseful show.

3. Many TV genres are represented.

I usually prefer comedies, and Lucifer includes plenty of comedic moments. Drama, action, fantasy, police procedural, and a tiny bit of horror are all represented in this show as well.

4. Each character is unique and interesting.

Lucifer’s charm is apparent from the start, and the show quickly introduces you to the eclectic mix of characters, including an angel, a demon, a detective, and a therapist.

5. A variety of themes are explored.

Lucifer struggles with the concept of good and evil throughout the series, which is the most obvious theme. Love, hate, desire, redemption, and honesty are all present in the show, too.

Lucifer oozes sex and charisma, and I practically drool on the screen every time he takes off his clothes. The female characters are also gorgeous, and they all have brains to go along with their beauty.

I completely recommend giving the show a try! You might find it as tantalizing as I do.

There are so many other reasons why Lucifer is awesome, but these are just a few to lure you in. Check out my list of Netflix shows to binge if you finished Lucifer and want to find another incredible show to add to your list.

As a final note, my only regret is not watching Lucifer sooner. It first aired in 2016, and I could’ve binge-watched the show many times in those four years.
